The Galleon waterfall

Let’s leave Lamateliane cottages in Guadeloupe for a hike in the rain forest at the foot of the Soufriere, to discover
the Galleon waterfall : a classic and accessible hike, to discover with family.
The walk begins on the heights of Saint-Claude, 45 minutes from our lodgings, at the parking of the Yellow Baths.
A gently sloping descent in the middle of the moist forest and exuberant vegetation will lead you in 1h15 at the foot
of the 40 meters waterfall and its basin.
To reach the waterfall, provide for a good pair of walking shoes.
A pleasant but “sportive” hike between roots, stones, ford crossing and climbing with ropes, which will lead you
to the foot of the waterfall. No swimming possible here, but you can have a picnic.
The most trained will combine the hiking of the Soufriere and that of the Galleon,
or else the Galleon and the Cistern by the Armistice track.
A good day to finish in the sulphurous and warm waters of the Yellow Baths.
